This is my daughter Madelyn's eczema. She has a mild case, but I'm going to do an experiment using my Unrefined Shea Body Butter Blend which I have on my Body Butter list as "Natural." 

I'm going to keep recording how my Natural Body Butter Blend achieve wonderful results in as little as 4 days by being consistant when using it as a skin treatment.

Picture taken 8/15/09. I cleaned Madelyn's eczema with castile soap (a mild soap). While her skin is still wet I applied the "Natural" Body Butter onto her affected skin. Notice how thick I applied this onto her skin.

Eczema tends to drink up whatever applied onto it, so I use a thick layer onto her skin.

8/15/09  This is Madelyn's skin after I smooth the butter on. I didn't completely rub it in. It melted with her body temperature.

Repeating the process of cleaning with castile soap, but  leave the skin wet (not damp). I did it consistantly every morning and at night, but throughout the day I would reapply the Natural Body Butter when her skin looks dry. THIS  IS THE RESULT OF  DAY 4. Picture will be up tomorrow (8/19/09)

Madelyn looks a little better. Her skin is still healing because of her type of eczema. On your left... this arm is more severe than the right side. I'm satisfied that this blend is working for me, but I'm going to continue recording to see how many days it takes for her skin type.

This is Day 9, 8/24/09 Today I just gave her a wash up (wiped off with a white wash cloth with a little castile soap. Applied the "Natural" Body Butter Blend. Her skin is smooth to touch...now just waiting for the scars from scratching to diminish.

9/10/09, 26th day results
This is the 26th day result using the Natural Body Butter Blend. I use twice a day. Clean in the morning with mild soap (not too damp). On wet skin apply thick layer on affected area. I found that covering with gauze to keep it clean & on the skin while she's playing is better than keep reapplying every time its rubbed off from playing. (Product will last longer). I  reapplied  the butter on skin & covered it at night while sleeping so that it won't rub off her skin while sleeping.  I'm very pleased on how well her skin has improved :) This will be my product for my daughter to use.  I'll  keep you guys posted on how well Madelyn's skin is continuing to improve.

9/16/09, DAY 32
Well there you have it. It took Madelyn  32 days for her skin to replenish. I'm happy and pleased with my Natural Body Butter.  My next picture will go up in Summer 2010 for viewing. My next project will be my Hair Butter for all hair types.. stay tuned.

Since I've been making my own Body products I've been buying from members of Fair Trade Federatrion to make sure I have true, and vegan safe ingredients in my Body Products, and at the same time I'm helping to support the cause by buying fair trade products. It helps producers struggling to improve their lives. In the future I'm looking forward to become a member myself to further help with the cause.
